TAARP - The Corridors of Time -
4.2 Artistic Creativity
Over the last 10 years I have developed an abstract/symbolic artistic capability which permits me to express my thoughts and feelings about the Gods of the collective unconscious using pastels. It does not matter whether or not anyone likes my art work. I like it, and I am very effective at developing talismans to aid in the invocation and evocation of archetypal entities.
The art work contained in Appendix E, Magical Record, demonstrates the course of my artistic development, and the current status of my artistic skills. The crude scribblings of 1975 (see Figure 1 and Figure 2 in Appendix E) can be seen to evolve into an interesting abstract/symbolic artistic capability by 1978 (see Listing of Color Slides and Slide No. 7).
Using the richly structured content of Crowley's and Lady Frieda Harris' TAROT I have developed talismanic techniques for projecting conscious awareness from the restricted rational, scientific, cause-effect mode to the proleptic/analeptic mode of the artist. One method utilizing an interplay of the color pairs red-violet/yellow-green and orange/space-blue, the 12/7 symbol set of the classical zodiac, the 12/7/72 symbol set of an ancient Babylonian zodiac, and the 22 elements of the Alphabet of the Magi in conjunction with the corresponding Trumps of Crowley's Tarot has proven to be quite effective.
Besides being effectively adept with the abstract/symbolic use of pastels, I also can write ballad type poetry which very effectively induces within me the feelings and emotions required for ritual Magick. Appendix D contains an example of my poetic skills.
